Some diners mention that the chips tend to be on the softer side, which may not please everyone. However, many enjoy this texture for soaking up vinegar well.
During peak times, especially Fridays, the atmosphere can get a bit hectic. This can sometimes lead to longer wait times for food, which might deter those craving a quiet meal.
While Champion Chippy does not have an extensive dessert menu, those looking for a sweet finish may find it lacking.
Ordered Plaice and chips online. Crispy, fairly light batter with fish that wasnt overcooked , chips were decent more on the softer floppy side but I prefer that as they soak up all the vinegar nicely. All in all very decent fish and chips couldn't complain and the prices are good compared to some of the madness you can see out there nowadays .
Champion chippy is an amazing establishment. The workers are very friendly and helpful with the ordering and the shop itself has an amazing atmosphere, clean and welcoming. Amazing chippy shop
Great food and the service was amazing! The food arrived really quick and was amazing. The chicken fillets was my favourite! Highly recommend!
The new XXL chicken burger, the best burger I have had in a long time. Very succulent and not dry at all. Can't fault the place clean, tidy, and very friendly staff
At 66, I've eaten some fish n chips in my time. These were absolutely perfect. Huge battered cod, slid off the paper, not stuck to it, lovely chips, a standard portion enough for 2 of us. Polite cheery service. Faultless.

Always a great generous meal! Just tried the new xxl chicken burger which was fabulous!
